Caring for Ridgeline Waterproof clothing

Dirt and grime will affect the performance of Ridgeline waterproof clothing so keeping the garments clean is vital for maintaining its effectiveness. All waterproof clothing contains a membrane, which makes the garment waterproof and breathable. This membrane can be damaged and will cease to function correctly if the garment is not cared for correctly and as per the care instructions.

Avoid using the following cleaning products:

  • Detergents containing fabric conditioner.
  • Fabric conditioner.
  • Bleach.

Always use non-biological detergents when washing your products.

We recommend that you use a specialist cleaning product that is specifically developed for washing technical performance clothing. These are available from most good outdoor retailers and will include instructions for the use of the product.

Do not place your garment next to direct heat.

Examples of direct heat include:

  • Laying garments on radiators.
  • Drying the garment on hot water pipes.
  • Placing the garment in front of an open fire.
  • Placing the garment in front of an electric blow heater or radiator.

For specific washing and drying instructions, please follow the care label attached to the product.
